From December 2019 to October 2020 I embarked on a research trajectory into the realms of musical storytelling, publishing a monthly research mixtape on Lithuanian community radio platform Palanga Street Radio. Findings included polyphonic compositions from the Middle Ages to the present day, spoken word and performance pieces, folk music, field recordings and instrumentals. Alongside the music, I guided listeners by introducing and sharing information from each recording’s historical context.
A visual language, inspired by classic interpretations of the numerical processions found in the tarot, was developed in drawings I made to accompany each episode. These depicted hybrid figures made of stars, people and plants.
